Letterly (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use the Letterly mobile application.

Letterly is designed to help you scan, organise, and search your documents. We prioritise privacy and do not collect unnecessary personal data.

2. Data Collection

Letterly does not collect, store, or transmit personal data to external servers operated by us.

All documents you scan and save remain:

  • On your device, or
  • In your personal iCloud Drive (if enabled)

We do not have access to your documents.

3. Documents & Scanned Content

Any documents you scan using Letterly:

  • Are processed locally on your device
  • May be stored in your iCloud Drive under your control
  • Are not uploaded to any servers controlled by us

OCR (text recognition) is performed on-device using Apple’s frameworks.

4. iCloud Storage

Letterly uses Apple’s iCloud Drive to store your documents.

  • Your files are stored within your own iCloud account
  • We do not access, view, or store your files
  • iCloud is managed by Apple and subject to Apple’s privacy policies

5. Camera Access

Letterly requires access to your device’s camera to scan documents.

  • The camera is only used when you actively scan documents
  • No images or video are recorded without your action

6. Search & OCR Data

Text extracted from documents (OCR) is:

  • Processed locally on your device
  • Used to enable search functionality within the app
  • Not transmitted externally by us

7. Subscriptions

Letterly offers a paid subscription (“Letterly Pro”) through Apple’s App Store.

  • Payments are processed by Apple
  • We do not collect or store your payment information
  • Subscription data is handled according to Apple’s policies

8. Third-Party Services

Letterly relies only on Apple-provided services:

  • iCloud Drive
  • Apple In-App Purchases

We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services in the app.

9. Data Security

Your data is protected by:

  • Apple’s device-level security
  • iCloud security (if enabled)

Since data is not stored on our servers, risk of exposure via our infrastructure is minimised.

10. Your Control

You are in full control of your data. You can:

  • Delete documents at any time
  • Manage files via the Files app
  • Disable iCloud storage if desired

11. Children’s Privacy

Letterly does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
